How it works -
When the panels are exposed to the sunlight/heat the system uses a process called thermosyphoning which takes cooler water from the bottom of the tank heating as it rises through the panels into the top of the tank.

Split Systems
Split systems are where the storage cylinder is situated on the ground and panels on the roof connected by a flow and return line and a circulating pump and contoller.
How it works -
The system is operatd by a controller module and sensor cables at the panels and bottom of the cylinder which when heat is detected in the panels the controller will operate the pump which circulates the cooler water from the bottom of the tank picking up heat through the panels being returned to the tank hotter. This process carries on until the temperature difference has been satisfied.

Cylinder can be installed anywhere on the ground level with the panels on a north facing roof. (Panels can be placed on other orientations using a frame.)
